SUMMARY:Six-week Violence Against Women and Girls training programme
DESCRIPTION:From Wednesday 16 September\, The Jessica Project and Power of Parenting (POP) are delivering a six-week Violence Against Women and Girls training programme\, completely free thanks to the generous support and funding of Winkfield Parish Council. \nBecause we believe that if we want to build healthier\, safer communities for everyone\, we have to be willing to open up the conversations that matter. \nWe need to talk to our young people about healthy relationships\, consent\, misogyny\, harmful behaviours\, online influences\, respect and safety. But we also need to make sure the adults around them are equipped to have those conversations too. \nThe programme is built for teachers\, school staff\, parents and carers\, and our wider community. \nWith changes to the curriculum bringing many of these conversations further into our schools\, there has never been a more important time to ensure the adults supporting young people feel informed\, confident and empowered. \nAcross the six weeks we cover domestic abuse\, sexual violence\, adverse childhood experiences\, why language matters\, stalking\, online violence and coercive control. \nSessions run on Wednesday evenings in Winkfield\, in person\, and are completely free to attend. The programme runs until Wednesday 21 October. \nWe are incredibly thankful to Winkfield Parish Council for recognising the importance of prevention and supporting the shared aims of our two Bracknell-based organisations. \nSix weeks. Real conversations. Practical education. DESCRIPTION:This September\, The Jessica Project is taking on the Wokingham Lions Club Annual Swimathon as Team Reclaim\, and the name means so much to us. \nAt The Jessica Project\, we never believe a survivor’s experience is all they are. \nIn fact\, with the right support\, compassion and space to heal\, those experiences can become part of the journey towards reclaiming confidence\, reclaiming identity\, reclaiming joy and reclaiming power. \nOur work is about more than surviving. \nIt is about helping survivors rise\, rediscover themselves and become the strongest\, most empowered version of who they are.
